The two museums that the Beaumont Heritage Society oversees are some of the most interesting and exciting stories of Beaumont. The John Jay French Museum on French Rd. dates back to 1875- the oldest restored settlement home in the area with artifacts and stories that are fascinating! The Chamber House Museum on Calder Ave. has a full family collection dating from 1914-to the early 2000's! Everything in the home is original and the collection rotates seasonally. The story about this family is wonderful- it's as if you were there at a gathering in the 20's; especially when the Victrola plays! Both these museums are a must visit!

Great staff who truly care about historic preservation and interpreting Southeast Texas history! They provide tours of a few local, historic properties and even hold yearly events. If you live around here, or are just visiting, I highly suggest that you visit the Beaumont Heritage Society.
