Eckhs99You can't go wrong with this food. If you are looking for genuine southern country soul food, this is your place. Being a border area, Southeast Texas has a unique flavor that's a blend of Southern Country, Soul, and Creole Cajun. This place captures it perfectly. Nowhere else can I find my mamaw's and mama's cooking but Richard's. Just make sure you are hungry because they load you up with a grown man plate. It's a mix of cultures in every bite.

Corbin PowellMac N Cheese, green beans, rice, chicken was very good. $18 for one plate and I ate half, large portions is why, price is very reasonable. The banana budding was also very good. Worth it if you’re at church and want that classic homestyle country food. Family owned business for 30 + years from what found today. The Lighting definitely could be better in the back but the rest of the atmosphere was good. If you want more lighting I’d go towards the entrance. Overall good experience.

Kent ArcherI apologize for not taking a picture of my plate of beef tips, but I was hungry. Diving straight in, there was fabulous flavor. There was enough spice to it to make you know you were alive and life was worth living. I consider myself a rather healthy eater, but I couldn't finish the portion. With four members of our party, we were only able to combine leftovers into 3 boxes. Portions were more than generous. My only regret is that I was too full to try one of the desserts they said were available. Also ...great music pumping through the speakers. I loved it. Quite unexpected for something we picked as we passed through on the interstate.
