Diane CrawfordBeautiful, clean and manicured park! Very interesting history and well displayed. Camp host met us and was very pleasant and thanked us for coming. If you love watching port activity its a definite place to catch boats moving in and out. A fascinating view to see their sizes! There were also many fishing and catching here! There is no entrance fee but worth it to give a nice donation at the gate, to keep this historical spot open!

Ryan FrazierWe went for the first time yesterday, We went to fish & crab. We caught a few fish, nothing spectacular, same with crabs, seems like it would be a good spot, but the actual Battle ground is awesome. Bunkers, all kinds of cool neat artifacts.

Danielle SI have been fishing this area with my son for over 15 years. Always a great experience. The grounds are always neat and clean. There is a reason why we have fish here for so many years. Very thankful to have this great spot in our area. Tony is one of the best groundskeepers we have seen always kind and helpful 10 out of 10 recommend.

Jeff SchmidtGreat little Texas site combining a civil war battlefield, WWII coastal defense site, as well as a clean picnic area and nice boat launch. Lt. Dick Dowling and fifty men held off a Union attack force of gunboats in a startling victory . Nothing remains of the original fort as the water has claimed the site. But there are plenty of informative panels about the area, the battle, and participants.
